Common Bond Development Group, the innovators behind some of the Southwest’s most notable developments, announced The Shops at Halo Vista, a new 11-acre mixed-use retail and hospitality destination planned at the northwestern hard corner of the I-17 and Dove Valley Road in North Phoenix. Positioned as the gateway to the TSMC Campus and the surrounding community, it’ll be located on the doorstep of Halo Vista, the approximately 2,400-acre master planned “city within a city” being developed by Mack Real Estate Group in partnership with McCourt Partners. The Shops at Halo Vista will deliver a thoughtfully curated mix of dining, lifestyle retail, and dual-branded hotel accommodations, all adjacent to the area’s first Costco, establishing a commercial heart for one of the most significant growth corridors in the Southwest.
“The Shops at Halo Vista represents a convergence between industry and lifestyle,” said Brian Frakes, principal at Common Bond Development Group. “As this corridor transforms into a global hub for innovation, we are creating a place where the workforce and the community can find inspiration and connection. It is about delivering an experience-driven environment that feels both authentic and unexpected.”
On the site, Common Bond has fully executed agreements for a 253-key dual-branded hotel featuring both Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott, and will break ground in November 2026. The five-story property will provide business and extended-stay accommodations with amenities including enlarged meeting rooms, a fitness center, pool, outdoor courtyard spaces, and lobby bar service.
Immediately west of the hotel, The Shops at Halo Vista integrates a mix of retail and patio-oriented dining intended to serve as both a daily convenience and a social destination. The project is now transitioning into its next leasing phase, signaling a significant opportunity for brands to establish a presence within the Southwest’s primary employment corridor. Rather than a traditional retail footprint, the development utilizes a versatile site plan that accommodates a range of scales, from local favorites to best-in-class hospitality brands, all tucked into a pedestrian-centric environment. By prioritizing walkable infrastructure and communal outdoor spaces, the development aims to bridge the gap between the area’s dense professional population and its growing residential base.
Common Bond’s approach to The Shops at Halo Vista builds on the success of The Park at 83, where a carefully selected mix of restaurants, including Postino, Blanco Cocina + Cantina, and North Italia, is paired with walkable site design and integrated hospitality elements to create a true destination-style guest experience.
With construction anticipated to begin this November, the project marks a major milestone in establishing the commercial backbone of the Halo Vista district and delivering high-quality everyday experiences to a rapidly growing community.
