Allen McDougall built a reputation for launching golf balls farther than just about anyone else on the planet, and now, the RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion brings that same competitive spirit to his dual role as a Vice President and Commercial Lender at Scottsdale Community Bank.

McDougall joined Scottsdale Community Bank in June 2025, but his career in finance spans more than 22 years. Over that time, he has worked closely with clients, business owners and entrepreneurs to secure financing and plan for long-term growth.

Before entering the banking industry, McDougall played golf at the collegiate and professional levels, competing on several mini tours, including the National Golf Association Tour. During that time, he discovered an unusual edge:the ability to drive a golf ball extraordinary distances.

McDougall soon channeled that realization into a new pursuit: professional long-drive competition. From roughly 2006 to 2010, he competed regularly on the circuit, attracting sponsorships from the likes of Krank Golf and PGA TOUR Superstore along the way.

The 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive event brought one of McDougall’s strongest results, with a win in the Desert Launch Open Division. His longest drive in competition measured 463 yards, with his average drive carrying over 400 yards, making him one of the sport’s longest hitters.

McDougall’s success on the golf course also led to TV exposure. He appeared on FOX’s “Big Shots: Titans of the Tee,” sharing the screen with figures ranging from Mark Wahlberg to Caitlyn Jenner, known publicly as Bruce Jenner at the time.

As McDougall’s golf successes multiplied, so, too, did his role in the financial sector, an industry he entered fresh out of college. He began his career training with Morgan Stanley in New York City, but the September 11, 2001, attacks affected his plans. He continued gaining experience in lending and banking in the years that followed, eventually finding his way to Arizona and, now, Scottsdale Community Bank.

In his current role, McDougall recognizes how the bank’s collaborative culture sets it apart from the pack.

“Normally in banking, you have a goal, and that’s all you think about,” he said. “Here, we’re very team-oriented, which I think is a wonderful way to run a business.” McDougall says this reminds him of the lessons he learned through sports participation earlier in life. “A team is only as good as its weakest link,” he said.

McDougall also referenced some other ways Scottsdale Community Bank sets itself apart from the competition, detailing fee-free accounts and each client having direct, easy accessibility to the bank’s leadership, including Board Chair George Weisz and President and CEO Neill LeCorgne.

“Allen has an impressive combination of financial acumen, competitive drive and strong community connections,” said LeCorgne, of McDougall’s hiring and tenure with the bank. “These qualities align perfectly with the way we approach banking at Scottsdale Community Bank, and it’s been a true pleasure to have Allen on our team.”

A Scottsdale resident and father of a 10-year-old daughter, McDougall makes his way to the golf course whenever possible, often playing the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course near his house, the home of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

In an area where golf and business often intersect, McDougall continues to bridge both worlds through his dedicated work at Scottsdale Community Bank
