Phoenix Children’s announced the promotion of Mike Meekins, PharmD, FACHE, to Senior Vice President of Operations, recognizing his exceptional leadership, operational expertise and commitment to advancing safe, high-quality care. In his new role, Meekins will direct and coordinate systemwide, non-nursing operations; provide strategic leadership for key clinical and support services; and partner closely with physician and operational leaders to translate organizational strategy into reliable, efficient operations.
Meekins joined Phoenix Children’s in 2021 as Chief Pharmacy Officer and has served as Interim SVP of Operations since November 2025, providing steady leadership while driving key initiatives and strengthening operations across teams.

During his tenure as Chief Pharmacy Officer, Meekins led significant growth and transformation within Pharmacy Services and throughout the organization. He launched new services, oversaw facility expansions, established a formal academic affiliation and expanded the Pharmacy Residency program. In addition to operational growth, Meekins has prioritized professional development for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to support retention, engagement and lifelong learning.

As Senior Vice President of Operations, Meekins will maintain a strong, visible presence across the health system, including evening rounding, ensuring close connections with frontline teams, heightened operational awareness and a sustained focus on Phoenix Children’s culture of safety and high-reliability care at all times.
