Macayo’s Mexican Food, the longtime traditional Mexican food brand with multiple locations around the valley, has announced its new Tempe restaurant opened its doors Tuesday, March 4 with a ribbon cutting ceremony and daylong celebration. The restaurant, located in the Cornerstone shopping center at 715 S. Rural Rd., is close to the ASU Tempe Campus, making it easy and convenient for students and the community to enjoy authentic Mexican food in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.
“We are humbled and grateful for the turnout at yesterday’s grand opening event,” said Lucas Farnham, CEO of Horizon Hospitality, the family-owned restaurant group that owns Macayo’s. “We are thrilled to open the doors to our new location in Tempe and look forward to welcoming our regular guests and new ones as well for many years to come.”
Opening day was packed with activities from start to finish including a ribbon cutting ceremony with Miss Arizona, free merch for the first 100 guests, fun and engaging activations, giveaways from the Macayo’s prize wheel, live mural painting by Cora Quiroz, Sun Devil Margarita samples with Ghost Tequila, lunch, happy hour and reverse happy hour specials, and much more.
At its various locations, Macayo’s has been immersed in the Tempe and Arizona State University communities for many years. With incredible food, happy hour offerings, an excellent bar program and its famed guest service, Macayo’s is dedicated to remaining a Tempe favorite well into the future. Its new location is a cornerstone of this effort.
