REDW Advisors and CPAs is pleased to welcome Matthew J. Robertson, CPA as a Principal in its Audit and Assurance practice. Robertson will support businesses in responsible growth and maturation, modernize established accounting policies and procedures, and support business development firmwide. He will also be focused on business development, mentorship, and community engagement. In his role, Robertson will be based in the fast-growing Phoenix office but will serve each of REDW’s four offices nationwide as well as the firm’s remote and global workforce.
Robertson brings more than 30 years of experience to the role, most recently as a Principal at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, during which time he primarily worked in the Construction, Manufacturing, and Gaming industries. While leading the Missouri team, Robertson notably assisted in the acquisition of an office in Kansas City, Mo. as well as the construction and debut of a wholly new office in St. Joseph, Mo. while overseeing more than 550 diverse clients.
Robertson also worked as a Senior Manager at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP for more than a decade, and prior to that in a manager role with Deloitte & Touche LLP. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Creighton University. During his first three decades in accounting, Robertson was a committed community leader and advocate, including serving in volunteer roles as Past President of the St. Joseph Rotary Club and St. Joseph’s Boosters as well as Past Chair of the St. Joseph Area Chamber of Commerce and St. Joseph Community Alliance. He is also a past board member of the Benton Club, Junior Achievement – where he was also an instructor for 22 years – Second Harvest Community Blood Bank, Community Health Plan, and more.
“I chose to join the leadership team at REDW as much because of their passion for their clients, team members, and community as for their depth of talent and experience in helping organizations navigate opportunities and obstacles while creating tailored, integrated solutions for their evolving financial needs,” said Robertson, who looks forward to becoming an active member of Phoenix’s philanthropic community as he settles into his new hometown.
