Western Retail Advisors has completed a 50,000-square-foot lease that will soon establish the latest metro Phoenix location for the fast-growing family fun park concept.
The new Slick City will sit at 9189 Talking Stick Way, within The Pavilions at Talking Stick, a 1.3 million-square-foot power center occupying more than 128 acres along the Loop 101 near Indian Bend Road in Scottsdale, Arizona. It will replace a former Burlington department store, with an extensive build-out that will include 15 indoor slides for all ages, numerous sports courts, an air court park, trapeze and swing equipment, junior play area, café and large party space for birthdays and corporate events.
Slick City currently operates seven locations in multiple U.S. markets. This includes two locations in metro Phoenix. The first location is at 7586 W. Thunderbird Rd. in Peoria, Arizona, which opened in May 2024. A second Slick City just opened this month at 845 N. 54th St. in Chandler, Arizona.
The Talking Stick location is under construction now, with an anticipated opening in November 2024.
“We’re growing rapidly and loving it,” said Bron Launsby, CEO and Founder, Slick City. “Our Peoria and Chandler debuts were a huge success and we are confident that our Scottsdale Slick City will be equally well received, catering to the demographics of this active community at a property that is synonymous with high-quality fun. The inventor of our dry slide technology, Gary Schmidt, is also from the area, making this opening even more significant.”
Noah Anastassatos and Jared Cauffield of Western Retail Advisors, along with Alex Apter of Location CRE, represented Slick City in their Talking Stick lease. Chuck Carlise and Carl Jones represented The Pavilions at Talking Stick owner, De Rito Partners.
“The Pavilions at Talking Stick has a fabulous entertainment synergy, and Slick City was keen on becoming a part of that mix,” said Cauffield. “We appreciate the contributions of everyone involved in this deal. It is a pleasure to help Slick City expand its Arizona footprint.”
In Chandler, Anastassatos and Cauffield represented landlord Innovative Property Holdings in the Slick City lease. Chris Hollenbeck and Shane Carter at Cushman & Wakefield represented Slick City.
The Scottsdale Slick City will join other Pavilion tenants including Home Depot, Target, Ross, RoadHouse Cinemas, PETCO, Mountainside Fitness, Hobby Lobby, Octane Raceway, Michaels, Guitar Center, Kids that Rip, Escape the Room, iFly and Great Hearts School.
