The Journey Venture Studio announced the revitalization of the former Bayless Integrated Healthcare clinic in Phoenix into its new offices. The first floor of the 11,000-square-foot building located at 3620 North 3rd Street will serve as the company’s headquarters.
The Journey, a 501c3 not-for-profit entity, brings diverse founders from across the country to Phoenix with hopes of launching venture-backable healthcare startups aimed at improving health outcomes while simultaneously closing the venture funding gap for women and bipoc entrepreneurs. Its eight-month venture fellowship provides underrepresented founders with $110K along with full-time support, mentorship, and programming, allowing founders to develop, prototype, and scale their startups. The Journey will be announcing more strategic partnerships within the coming months that will allow them greater access to research and funding, furthering its mission to create disruptive healthcare tech.
“Our state-of-the-art headquarters will house the next generation of diverse entrepreneurs, launching disruptive healthcare technology,” said Mark Moeremans, Managing Director of The Journey. “Having this space will be pivotal for diverse entrepreneurs coming in from all over the country from various backgrounds, who will have the opportunity to receive resources and support that will catapult them to the next level.”
The company recently celebrated the new offices with a private grand opening event. The evening consisted of a dinner, a silent auction, a spell-binding magician, and a small program. Investors and supporters were treated to a first look at what’s ahead for The Journey Venture Studios.
“This building has been in my family for decades and was the first ever Bayless Integrated Healthcare clinic location (previously remodeled 2012),” said Justin Bayless, President, and Founder of The Journey Venture Studio. “Now, this building will house a new dream, and serve as the home for the next generation of diverse entrepreneurs, allowing them a real chance of success and making a difference while honoring the family legacy built in this community.”
The renovations of the building are done in collaboration with the interior design firm House of Form.
