On Thursday, July 7, popular Arizona-based restaurant brand eegee’s will open the doors to its first West Valley location at 35th Avenue and Peoria Avenue. Those in the area will now be able to conveniently enjoy eegee’s namesake frozen drink—an ice-cold concoction packed with chunks of real fruit—award-winning French fries, signature subs, grinders and more.

The 2,300-square-foot space will have a contemporary design, featuring a walk-up ordering window and a drive-thru with a special eegee-only window so that those ordering the beverage can quickly and conveniently exit the line. The dining room is partially enclosed by garage doors, which will allow guests to enjoy eegee’s al fresco during the cooler months.

On Thursday, July 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., guests are invited to join eegee’s at the new location for grand opening celebrations, complete with music, activities and eegee’s swag for sale. And, during opening week, guests can eat for a good cause by ordering their favorite eegee’s menu items and rounding up their total at the register in support of the American Cancer Society. The round-up donations from opening day through July 14 will be donated to the American Cancer Society in honor of Cassy Mendez, a longtime eegee’s fan who grew up around the corner from the new location.

Meet Cassy: “Cassy beat breast cancer only to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just five years later. She was an amazing spirit, a fighter, and… she loved eegee’s,” said Laura Kupper, Cassy’s close friend who wrote to eegee’s. “Even after moving to Maui, she would get Party Paks of eegees shipped on dry ice to the island. When I heard eegee’s was opening up a new location near her childhood home, I knew I needed to reach out to see if they would help me honor her in some way.”

eegee’s has also partnered with Phoenix-based artist Meg Stapp who will paint a piece of artwork which will live permanently in the restaurant, dedicated to Mendez. Stapp will also design a special-edition sticker for the opening, which will be gifted to the first 2,500 guests at the new location starting on July 7 and until supplies last.

“One of the many reasons I joined the company is because of eegee’s commitment to connecting with the communities it operates in,” says newly appointed CEO, Jason Vaughn. “I’m touched that we’re honoring a longtime fan of the brand and look forward to the connections and friendships we’ll continue to make in the West Valley in the years to come.”

eegee’s is continuing its expansion throughout Arizona and recently announced plans for out-of-state expansion in the future. The company has recently broken ground for their next Phoenix location at I-17 and Bell Road with the opening slated for Fall 2022.
