Want some gourmet cheese with that wine? Then plan to check out Gastromé Market, a new specialty wine and cheese destination set to open soon at Gainey Ranch in North Scottsdale.
In addition to a full lineup of fine wines and gourmet cheeses from around the world, Gastromé Market will feature humanely and sustainably raised cured and smoked meats, indoor and outdoor seating, and an onsite classroom, among other amenities.
“We want you to take your time when you come here – we’re not your traditional wine and cheese shop,” said Tiffany Chavez, who co-owns Gastromé Market alongside partner Jenny Le. “You can come in and grab a quick bottle on-the-go, or sit down, have a glass of wine or Champagne and chat with us about everything from food pairing suggestions to our favorite wine varieties.”
The market’s interior features two large cases of specially selected cheeses displaying large wheels and other varieties, a temperature-controlled wine showcase, a culinary library and a classroom with seating for 20. There, guests can sign up for classes focusing on everything from wine and food pairings to charcuterie board creation.
“There’s no stuffiness, intimidation or ‘silly questions’ here,” said Le, who sharpened her culinary skills in a similar specialty shop in Boston, Massachusetts, before opening her own. “You’re going to find high-end products, and be guided through incredible sips with our team.”
Guests who aren’t sure what to try or what to pair it with can confer with Gastromé Sommelier, Charlie Fina, who spent most of his professional years in NYC. Charlie brings more than two decades of experience and a wealth of information about wine, food pairings, music and more to the table. Guests will be awe-inspired by his poetic passion for every pour. The market also employs a private forager who hand-picks fruits, vegetables, truffles along with other high-end ingredients for display on store shelves and for pairing alongside wines.
In addition to a wide array of boutique wines, fine cheeses, fresh produce and smoked and cured meats, Gastromé Market will feature the works and wares of local artisans and vendors, which guests can purchase separately or paired together in picnic or gift baskets created onsite. The market will also offer catering services and plans to maintain a staff of approximately 12.
