OneAZ Credit Union has unveiled two murals highlighting the natural and urban beauty of Arizona at the credit union’s downtown Phoenix branch, created by local artist Laura Spalding Best.
The murals live at OneAZ’s Monroe Street branch, which was the credit union’s first branch location, opened in 1962. The Arizona-focused artwork honors OneAZ’s 70-year legacy as a financial institution that serves all Arizonans.
“We’re thrilled to unveil these incredible murals that honor Arizona’s beauty and history,” says Kim Reedy, President and CEO of OneAZ. “Public art adds enormous value to the community, and we’re proud to beautify downtown Phoenix with murals at our first branch.”
The branch, located at 1812 W. Monroe St. in Phoenix, houses the murals on its east and west exterior walls. The west side features outlines of Arizona with urban and rural landscapes. The mural on the east side depicts sunset imagery with Arizona’s state capitol building in the center, paying homage to OneAZ’s origins as a state employee’s credit union. The credit union now serves anyone who lives or works in Arizona and strives to be the preferred financial institution of all Arizonans.
“Our branches are truly engagement hubs where Arizonans can get help with defining and reaching their financial goals,” says Laura Worzella, OneAZ’s EVP retail sales. “When people come to visit the murals, they can step inside the branch and experience the spectacular service and expertise that we provide to over 145,000 members across the state.”
