Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, announced today the return of the Barrett-Jackson Cup competition as part of the company’s 2021 Scottsdale Auction in January. The Barrett-Jackson Cup, which recognizes the talent and craftsmanship of custom car and truck builders, is a part of Barrett-Jackson’s “Road to 50” celebration. The competition will be limited to 50 custom builders, who will compete for prizes and the chance to earn the coveted Barrett-Jackson Cup trophy. Registration for the 2021 Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson Cup opens Monday, September 21; there is no fee to submit an application.
“We want to give builders the chance to show off the amazing customs they planned to unveil at automotive events in 2020 that were canceled,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. . “Bringing back the Barrett-Jackson Cup is the perfect way we can help recognize the hard work, talent and time that countless master craftsmen have poured into creating some of the world’s finest pieces of automotive art. We can’t wait to show the world how builders have raised the bar in custom vehicle design using the latest advancements in technology and performance.”
The 50 builders, which will be selected by members of the Barrett-Jackson team from the total number of registrations submitted, will be showcased on Family Day, Saturday, January 16, during the 2021 Scottsdale Auction. Categories will include the top Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford and Toyota builds, to be selected by a team of judges. Fans will be able to vote for the “Ultimate Best in Show,” and the overall winner will be awarded the coveted Barrett-Jackson Cup, in addition to other prizes.
