In an effort to provide continued care to our treasured patients, The CORE Institute has implemented a new Orthopedic Telehealth Program that allows patients in the Phoenix area to see an orthopedic provider without having to travel to one of their offices.
In response to the continued climb of COVID-19 cases nationally, recent changes to state and federal regulations have allowed for the use of telehealth for patients with any medical issue or injury. The CORE Institute has implemented a platform where those with new orthopedic injuries, as well as existing patients, can receive care from their home using their smartphone, tablet or desktop device.
“We know how important social distancing is during the COVID-19 crisis,” said CEO of The CORE Institute, Dr. David Jacofsky. “At the same time, we know that patients are still sustaining orthopedic injuries and our current patients still need to receive ongoing treatment and follow up. Our Telehealth Program allows those in our community to be seen by one of our skilled providers without having to come into the office or go to the Emergency Room. We can now utilize our Telehealth Program to diagnose the severity of an injury which will help us to minimize the number of patients in our waiting rooms and increase social distancing. If an X-Ray, MRI or bracing is needed, we can direct the patient to our closest facility where they can be treated in-person by our expert team.”
The addition of telehealth comes one week after The CORE Institute began its Urgent Ortho program at 7 locations across the valley. The Urgent Ortho program allows patients to be seen by an orthopedic specialist on a walk-in basis with no appointment needed to help local hospitals and Urgent Care Centers focus on treating this with COVID-19 related symptoms.
The CORE Institute was founded to fulfill a vision of excellence in patient care encompassing the entire spectrum of orthopedic and neurosciences care. The CORE Institute delivers integrated, comprehensive musculoskeletal and neurological care. It is built upon a foundation of pioneering research, academics, community service and a passion for excellence in patient care.
