Common Bond Development Group, the award-winning development team behind The Global Ambassador, is announcing the forthcoming completion of development and construction at their 2.66-acre Peoria, Arizona retail development, The Park at 83. Just steps away from the main stadium of the Peoria Sports Complex, making it the perfect conduit between the stadium, park, and restaurants, The Park at 83 will feature the first-ever West Valley locations for three popular local restaurants: Postino WineCafé, North Italia, and Blanco Cocina + Cantina, as well as a 2-acre tree-laden park that’ll come alive with community events, brand activations, outdoor concerts, makers’ markets, movie nights and more. The park has been designed by renowned landscape architecture firm, Berghoff Design, and features lush landscaping, two acres of grass, and trees focused on the central, sunken core. The project, which is set for completion in September 2024, will challenge the look and layout of the traditional retail strip mall, creating a new, more welcoming and neighborhood-centric model for small-scale restaurant developments in the future.
“This project has been in the works for some time, and has truly been a labor of love,” says Brian Frakes, founder of Common Bond Development Group, “We’ve been working with the City of Peoria for over three years on The Park at 83, and are proud of the high-quality, design-focused restaurants joining the project, along with the park we were able to deliver. The city quickly got behind the idea of creating this communal area to host live music and events, relax, and then go to dinner, or let the kids play while the adults sip wine on the patio.”
The Park at 83 will bring a youthful and energetic mix of hospitality to Peoria, including:
North Italia, the Scottsdale-born modern Italian restaurant concept known for elevated, crave-worthy dishes in a comfortable dining environment, will debut their Peoria location with a first-to-market new fall/winter menu that will set the stage for all other North locations. Opening on October 9, guests can expect seasonally-inspired scratch-made dishes and a robust selection of beverages, as well as sports-themed décor throughout the space as a nod to its proximity to the baseball fields. Marking its fifth location in The Grand Canyon State, the menu will be equipped with guest-favorite dishes including Chicken Pesto with gigli, sweet basil, garlic, toasted pine nuts and capers, and the Hot Honey & Smoked Prosciutto with scamorza, speck, Calabrian honey, arugula, and pecorino toscano.
Blanco Cocina + Cantina is more than your typical Mexican restaurant: it’s an escape from the ordinary, a happy hour hang out, a place to sit back and recharge. The laid-back party atmosphere, perfect for sipping the day away, serves craveable dishes like Cheese Crisps (aka Mexican Pizza) and the Chimichanga – a Sonoran regional staple. In fact, Blanco will offer Chimichangas with decadent fillings such as short rib machaca or braised chicken. Other show-stealers include Tiger Shrimp Fajitas with spicy garlic butter, and tacos on handmade corn tortillas with Slow Cooked BBQ, roasted corn slaw, pickled onion, and crema fresca. Wash it all down with any of the house made margaritas, squeezed fresh all day long, like the Jalapeño & Pineapple Margarita with ancho reyes chili liqueur & habanero bitters or a Frozen Paloma with blood orange, grapefruit, and blanco tequila. Blanco will also open with a lineup of fan-favorite local beers alongside staple dishes and seasonal favorites.
“Having Blanco join two other iconic restaurants in this thriving community was a perfect fit for us,” said Sam Fox, Founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts. “We have a longstanding relationship with Brian and Common Bond Development Group and are excited to expand into the West Valley together. We can’t wait to share great tacos and margaritas with the neighborhood.”
Postino, the all-day restaurant and wine bar known for its cult-like following, welcoming hospitality and locally-inspired spaces, will be opening their Peoria location with all their good vibes in tow, including their new cocktail menu and weekend brunch. The backbone of the menu features an ever-changing selection of boutique wines, newly introduced cocktails and craft brews paired with a decked-out menu of bruschetta, panini, salads and a lineup of crave-worthy charcuterie boards and shareables. Plus, the Postino Team is dreaming up a one-of-a-kind kicked back space served up with a sophisticated twist. Drawing its name from the Italian word for postman – an homage to the former 1940’s Arcadia post office where the first Postino was born over 20 years ago – the Peoria location will be debuting design features unique to the Peoria neighborhood and community.
“We are very excited to be opening our doors in the Peoria community,” said Postino Co-Founder and CEO Lauren Bailey. “We’ve heard from our guests traveling from the west valley for quite some time that they wanted a Postino in their neighborhood. When Jen Stein and the town of Peoria shared this opportunity in the area, our first call was to Brian at Common Bond Development Group and he created The Park at 83. We are thrilled to join the Fox team and can’t wait to bring our brand of welcoming hospitality to the Peoria community.”
