Arizona Major Events Host Committee announced it has rebranded as the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance, formalizing Arizona’s position as a national and global leader in attracting, planning and hosting world-class events.

The Alliance will continue to serve as Arizona’s front door for all major sports, entertainment and commercial events, carrying forward the state’s legacy as a premier event destination.

Since 2015, Arizona has hosted two Super Bowls (XLIX in 2015, LVII in 2023), two NCAA Men’s Final Fours (2017, 2024) and the College Football Playoff National Championship (2016). Arizona’s next major event is the 2026 NCAA Women’s Final Four, set for April 2-5 in downtown Phoenix.

“The Arizona Sports & Events Alliance plays a vital role in Arizona’s bright future,” Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs said. “The Alliance will continue to drive game-changing events to Arizona, generating significant economic impact, benefiting our communities, and showcasing the best of our state to the world.”

The Arizona Sports & Events Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with civic, business, tourism, Native American and sports leaders to host marquee events in Arizona. Leveraging decades of major event expertise, the Alliance unites statewide stakeholders with governing bodies to deliver exceptional experiences, fuel economic growth and elevate Arizona’s global profile.

“It’s impossible to overstate the value that these prestigious, world-class events bring to our state and our communities,” said Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill. “The landscape is constantly evolving and the competition to attract these events gets more intense by the day. For Arizona to continue securing opportunities, it requires that we constantly innovate and elevate our collective efforts. This strategic shift to the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance is a forward-looking step in that process and one that the Cardinals are proud to support.”

That support is echoed by Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald Jr., a key member of the 2023 Super Bowl Host Committee.

“Serving as Executive Chair of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee gave me a true appreciation for the work it takes to put on world-class events,” Fitzgerald said. “I’m proud to stand alongside the Alliance to showcase our state on the global stage and make a real difference in our communities.”

“This work has always been about creating meaningful impact for Arizona, and the Alliance ensures that the state continues to elevate its status as a premier event destination,” said Jay Parry, President and CEO of the Alliance. “With more exciting events on the horizon, we’re ready to keep creating opportunities that lift up our state and deliver a best-in-class experience for event governing bodies.”
