Washington Prime Group (WPG), owner of Scottsdale Quarter, recognizes the vital role that small businesses play as a major driver of the U.S. economy. As many small businesses have closed during the coronavirus pandemic, local entrepreneurs may find it difficult to pay operating expenses such as payroll, insurance, utilities, loan interest, inventory and, of course, their rent.
In an effort to ease the burden, WPG has partnered with the Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship and the University of Chicago to launch the Open for Small Business Initiative. Which provides an easy to use lease modification template allowing for the deferral of payments until local entrepreneurs can get back on their feet.
Open for Small Business Initiative is also hosting educational webcast seminars with government agency officials and private sector experts to discuss how to access SBA guaranteed loans and more. These resources are being made available to all small businesses whether or not they are a WPG tenant.
