The Picklr announced it has filed for a court-supervised restructuring under Chapter 11 to strengthen its financial foundation. In an October 10 statement, the indoor pickleball franchisor said its clubs remain open, members continue to play and franchise partners are operating their independently owned clubs as usual.

The company has secured a $4.5 million financing commitment from an investor group led by one of its franchisees, subject to court approval. According to the statement, the restructuring will allow Picklr Inc. to resolve commitments made during its early growth and focus on supporting franchisees and the players in their clubs.

“Our clubs are open. Our members are playing. Our franchise partners own and run their clubs, and they’re operating as usual,” the company said.

The announcement follows a rapid expansion of the brand’s franchise network. Founded in 2021, The Picklr began franchising in 2023, the same year it announced plans to enter Arizona. The company has since grown to more than 70 domestic locations, with additional facilities in Australia, Canada and Japan.

The Picklr’s Arizona directory currently lists six clubs: Cave Creek, Mesa, Oro Valley, Peoria, Scottsdale North and Tempe. Five serve the Greater Phoenix market, while Oro Valley extends the brand’s presence into Southern Arizona. The facilities offer indoor courts, league play, tournaments, court reservations and other membership amenities.

Recent local expansion included the Cave Creek club, whose grand opening was announced in June. Located at 34442 N. Scottsdale Road, the facility features eight indoor courts, including a championship-size court, along with player lounges, lockers, showers, vanity stations and a dedicated fitness area. Its programming includes open play, leagues, tournaments, clinics, lessons and member events, with nationwide club access available through certain memberships.

The Cave Creek location is owned by Dr. John Allred, who also owns the Scottsdale North and Salt Lake City clubs. Its addition expanded the brand’s year-round indoor playing options for residents of Cave Creek, Carefree and North Scottsdale.

In its restructuring announcement, The Picklr thanked its members, franchise partners and team members, emphasizing its continued focus on franchise operators and their club communities.
