FlexEtc will open a 70,000-square-foot entrepreneurial community in East Phoenix on September 1, bringing its flexible coworking and co-warehousing model to Arizona for the first time. Located at 4114 E. Wood St., FlexEtc Phoenix combines warehouse space, professional workspace and a collaborative business community within a single facility.
Memberships start at $650 per month, providing entrepreneurs and small businesses with an accessible alternative to operating from garages, spare rooms and other temporary spaces or assuming the cost and long-term commitment of a conventional commercial lease.
The facility is designed for businesses that make, move and create, including growing companies that need space for inventory, packing, shipping and daily operations. Its flexible model also gives national brands a lower-commitment way to establish or test a presence in the Phoenix market.
FlexEtc Phoenix is intended to support companies through multiple stages of growth. Businesses can establish a professional operating base, gain the space needed to organize inventory and fulfill orders, and scale their footprint as their needs change without leaving the surrounding entrepreneurial community.
The Phoenix property will become FlexEtc’s seventh location nationwide, joining communities in Los Angeles, Charlotte, Denver, Nashville, Plano and Salt Lake City. With the addition of Phoenix, the company will provide more than 700,000 square feet of flexible business space across its national portfolio.
FlexEtc selected Phoenix as its newest market amid continued population and business growth as well as a structural shortage of flexible industrial space. Traditional coworking facilities often address office needs but provide little room for physical inventory or production. Conventional industrial buildings, meanwhile, can require more space, capital and lease commitment than an emerging company is prepared to assume.
FlexEtc Phoenix is built to bridge that gap by combining the flexibility of coworking with the practical infrastructure of warehousing. The model gives businesses a place to conduct administrative work while managing products and operations from the same address.
The shared setting is also designed to create connections among companies facing similar growth challenges. Rather than operating in isolation from homes or makeshift spaces, members become part of a community of entrepreneurs with opportunities to build relationships, exchange knowledge and do business with one another.
The facility will be led by Allira Cooper, Bobby Condon and Shannon Price of FlexEtc. It will begin serving members on Tuesday, September 1.
