Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce Beth Nillen has joined the Health Care Practice Group as an of counsel attorney in the firm’s Phoenix office.
Most recently in her legal career, Nillen founded a solo private practice that became a unique one-stop shop for health care clients to handle all legal matters related to operations. She has more than 15 years of experience handling the day-to-day legal affairs for clients as well as representing them in all facets of employment relationships and complex business litigation.
Nillen also brings firsthand clinical understanding of health care, as she is a stroke-certified registered nurse with eight years of in-hospital experience. She has previously worked in several units throughout the hospital system, including in the intensive care unit (ICU), emergency room, and neuro, trauma, and orthopedics unit. In these roles, her focus was working with patients who were suffering from neurological deficits, stroke, and catastrophic and traumatic brain injuries. Nillen also served on a large Arizona hospital’s ethics committee as well as recently completed two terms on the State Board of Nursing’s Scope of Practice Committee.

Nillen completed her undergraduate studies at Marquette University before earning her Juris Doctor at the University of Wisconsin. Following her first stint in private practice with two large, national law firms, she obtained an additional degree in nursing from Arizona State University in 2016 before beginning her medical career.
