BloomNation Launches in Phoenix

BloomNation launched in Phoenix this month. Often referred to as “the Etsy for flowers,” BloomNation is the world’s largest online flower marketplace showcasing the designs of top artisan florists in over 3,000 cities nationwide. BloomNation doesn’t allow stock images and ensures the arrangement consumers fall in love with is the arrangement received by sending BloomSnaps, photos of the bouquet before delivery. The site offers 100-percent transparency between the florist and the consumer and cuts out the middleman to bring business back to the heart of the industry. BloomNation provides local florists with customized websites, e-marketing tools, professional floral photo shoots and tons more, and florists who join BloomNation have seen sales increase up to 500 percent.

Named by Entrepreneur and Business Insider as a top startup to watch and backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Ronny Conway, Spark Capital, Chicago Ventures and CrunchFund, BloomNation also strongly supports local flower shops and studios across the country, getting these small businesses discovered by consumers from across the globe.

The company was initially started after Co-Founder and CEO, Farbod Shoraka heard the pain points of his aunt, a local florist who was struggling to keep her business’ doors open. As a consumer who would regularly order flowers online for his girlfriend and frequently end up as a disappointed consumer, Farbod created BloomNation and brought on his two best friends, Gregg Weisstein and David Daneshgar to disrupt the industry.

Daneshgar, BloomNation co-founder and former World Series of Poker champ, was joined by owners of more than a dozen local flower shops at the launch party, which was held at We Got Flowers, Phoenix’s local floral wholesaler.
