Description:
Our Phoenix, Arizona team is growing and we are looking for a talented, committed and fun person to join us as an Accounting Manager. We are an established construction subcontracting firm and are a leader in the North American market. All of our hiring is done through our North American head office in Toronto, Ontario.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for:
· calling customers to collect outstanding accounts, holdbacks & working with project managers to implement shipping holds
· customer invoicing, specific to the construction industry
· accounts payable entry & cheque preparation
· payments & day-to-day banking
· bank reconciliation
· credit applications and approvals for customers
· monthly inventory spreadsheets
· government and other remittances (WSIB, HST, tax instalments, etc.)
· working with external company accountants on other financial matters relating to the business
· closing project files and file organization
· Collaborating with project managers and the sales team to resolve issues
To succeed in this role, the individual will need an attention to detail, the ability to work with customers on the telephone and an interest in accounting and collections. We also want an individual that is a strong communicator, has a positive attitude and a willingness to commit to our company.
The following are mandatory requirements for all applicants:
· 3-5 years of previous accounting experience in the construction industry
· Knowledge of construction progress draws (Textura, etc.)
· Knowledge of the construction industry (Prevailing wages, general industry requirements, etc.)
· Post-secondary education from a reputable community college or university
· Experience with Sage/Business Vision accounting software or equivalent accounting software
· A genuine interest in collecting accounts receivable
· Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
While this job is permanently in Phoenix, the successful applicant may be required to travel out of town for an initial 4-6 week training period at one of our affiliated companies.
