Renewal by Andersen Benefits House of Refuge

Renewal by Andersen Oct. 23, 2015

IMG_5193Renewal by Andersen is doing its part to support the families who have been victims of domestic violence, in recognition of National Make A Difference Day and in conjunction with National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. One in four women have been victimized at some point in their lifetime, and, according to the 2009 Women’s Health Data Book Report, more than 2.5 million American women experience domestic abuse each year, along with up to 10 million children.

On October 21, Renewal by Andersen (RBA) embarked on a heartfelt home improvement project to renovate residents homes at the House of Refuge (HR). RBA employees were out at the HR all day installing more than 30 new energy-efficient and noise-reducing windows and exterior doors at three HR residential homes.

The HR is a transitional housing program for homeless families and victims of domestic violence. This project was made possible by the Windows for Change program founded by RBA. This program was set up with the goal of renovating all 88 homes at HR.  The total value of cash, in-kind labor and product donations this year so far is $75,126.
