The Phoenix Suns has hired Hunter Lochmann as senior vice president of Marketing & Brand Strategy. In his new role, Lochmann will oversee all marketing, game entertainment, creative service and merchandise operations for the Suns, Phoenix Mercury and US Airways Center. His responsibilities will include day-to-day development of the Suns brand, both in the market and through the team’s digital and social media assets, as well as revenue maximization via strategic season-long and single-game marketing initiatives. Lochmann will also oversee the Suns and Mercury in-game presentation and fan experience.
Lochmann joins the Suns following four years as the chief marketing officer for the University of Michigan Athletic Department. Prior to that, Lochmann served as vice president of Marketing for Madison Square Garden, where he oversaw all marketing, advertising, promotion and branding efforts for the New York Knicks.
Lochmann earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from the University of Kansas, before completing a masters degree in Sports Management at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
