GPEC Announces Leadership Lineup for Business Development Team

The Greater Phoenix Economic Council today announced its leadership team for the business development department.

“The business development team at GPEC is emerging as one of the top business recruitment groups in the nation,” GPEC President and CEO Barry Broome said. “I’m honored to work with such outstanding individuals and excited about the potential and growth opportunities they represent.”

Chris Camacho is returning to GPEC to again serve as executive vice president, leading GPEC’s day-to-day strategic market objectives. He will oversee GPEC’s domestic and international strategies to induce foreign direct investment and expand trade relationships within target markets.

“GPEC plays a vital role in the market’s industry diversification and jobs strategy,” Camacho said. “I’m glad to be returning to enhance the region’s leadership on competitiveness, attract high-wage jobs and build a more dynamic economy for the region.”

Brad Smidt, an 13-year veteran of GPEC, was promoted to senior vice president, where he is leading the team’s domestic business recruitment efforts and executing tactical business development strategies with national site selection consultants, Fortune 1,000 companies and emerging high-growth companies..

Chris Petroff also returns to GPEC as vice president of business development, after a 12-month absence to run start-up organization SeedSpot. He will be spearheading top business expansion projects in a project management role.

Petroff is joined by fellow vice presidents Angela Talbot, who joined GPEC in 2010, and Jaime Northam, who was recently promoted.
