Ballard Spahr’s Lea Phillips Named to Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest Board of Directors

Lea A. Phillips, an environmental lawyer with Ballard Spahr, has been named to the Board of Directors for the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest.

The Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest is a private, nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to representing the people of Arizona on issues including clean air and water, access to education and school finance reform, open government, health care, consumer rights, campaign finance reform, and the protection of public lands and natural resources.

Ms. Phillips represents clients in a wide range of environmental litigation, regulatory, and transactional matters, and regularly advises clients on environmental risks and liabilities in energy and real estate transactions. She has significant experience in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance issues, and represents commercial, manufacturing, and industrial clients in complex environmental litigation matters in federal and state court and before administrative tribunals. Her practice also extends to Native American Indian Law.

Ms. Phillips is an associate in Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department and a Co-Leader of the firm’s Ballard Women Associates. She also serves on the executive board of the Maricopa County Bar Association, Environmental & Natural Resources Section, of which she is the immediate past Chair.
