Arizona Bank & Trust Focuses on Women’s Financial Education and Philanthropy

Arizona Bank & Trust August 10, 2015

Arizona Bank & Trust continues its commitment to community involvement with a focus on women and philanthropic efforts that help families. One of Arizona Bank & Trust’s key initiatives is the Women’s Financial Forum, a free community resource designed to guide women in their understanding of financial and investment management. The forums are led by Nancy Tengler, senior vice president of Wealth Advisory Services for Arizona Bank & Trust, and author of The Woman’s Guide to Successful Investing. The Women’s Financial Forums couple women’s lifestyle interests such as fashion, fitness and healthy cooking, with relevant financial advice and a philanthropic component. Donations of $1,000 have been made to Blue Star Moms, which provides care packages to our troops, as well as $500 to The Assistance League and Books for Schools Program.

The bank has also donated $2,000 to the Arizona Council on Economic Education (ACEE) via sponsorship of a table at the organization’s annual gala. Tengler has also invested numerous hours with ACEE counseling teachers gratis on investing and serves on the organization’s board.

Arizona Bank & Trust is proud to support the philanthropic efforts of students who give back. Thanks to the backing of AB&T, Kicks 4 Kiddos has donated dozens of unique, hand-painted shoes to the children of Singleton Moms, a small, Arizona-based nonprofit that is dedicated to nurturing single parents battling cancer and their minor children. Kicks for Kiddos is a nonprofit corporation led by Bailey Sullivan, a recent graduate of Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Deer Valley.

AB&T also supports other female-based nonprofits and events, recently contributing a $5,000 sponsorship to Just Moved Ministries at its annual luncheon. The mission of Just Moved Ministries, a locally based international nonprofit, is to be “committed to the spiritual growth and emotional well-being of women who are uprooted by a move or any life change.”

This call to service starts at the top with President and CEO Jerry Schwallier, who donates his time during the December holidays to ring the Salvation Army bell to collect contributions for the charity.
