The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce announced its 2023 Business Volunteer Award recipients. These awards, given annually since their inception in 2004, honor Chamber Members and supporters who, in their role as volunteers, have made a significant and positive impact on the Chamber and our community. Honorees are nominated by members of the Chamber and selected by Chamber senior staff and board members.
“The Scottsdale Chamber is proud to honor our 2023 Business Volunteer Award recipients. These individuals have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to both the Chamber and community through their generous volunteerism,” stated Michelle Pabis, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “Their selfless contributions embody the spirit of giving and we are honored to have them as part of our business community.”
The Honorees are:
Dale B. Fingersh Volunteer of the Year Award: Justin Layman, Arouet Capital
This award recognizes a servant-leader within our membership who embodies volunteerism through dedication, commitment, and service to the Chamber.
Mark F. Eberle Rising Star Award: Jim Garman, Suzi Glover – State Farm Insurance
This award recognizes an individual who, over a relatively short tenure of involvement, has made a substantial impact through his or her volunteerism, demonstrating true volunteer spirit and leadership promise.
Segner Award: Sam & Cid Merrill, A Better Way (pictured)
Named in honor of Wesley Segner, the Chamber’s first Board Chair in 1947. The award honors a member with a minimum of 5 years of service who has followed Segner’s legacy of leadership, community stewardship and active contributions to the success of the Chamber.
Legacy Award: Christina Heide, Commerce Bank of Arizona
This award honors a longstanding Scottsdale Chamber member who has risen above the call of duty throughout their membership, contributing significantly to the Chamber, the business community, and the community at large.
Chairperson’s Award: Geoff Beer, Centricity Real Estate, LLC
This award recognizes a Chamber Member that has demonstrated exceptional dedication in supporting the Chamber’s mission and its membership, going above and beyond in their commitment towards upholding the Chamber’s values and objectives.
Rising Young Professional Award: Dana Holt, State 48 Law
This award recognizes a member of Scottsdale Rising Young Professionals who has demonstrated dedication, commitment, and service to SRYP, the Chamber, and the community through volunteerism and leadership.
