For an eighth year, Banner Health President and CEO Peter Fine has been named among the ‘100 Most Influential People in Healthcare,’ just published by Modern Healthcare.
Now in its nineteenth year, the program acknowledges and honors individuals who are deemed by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be the most influential individuals in the industry, in terms of leadership and impact.
“I am particularly honored to receive this distinguished recognition at the culmination of an unprecedented year in health care,” said Fine. “Banner’s frontline health care workers, support staff and leadership team have gone above and beyond during the pandemic, overcoming extraordinary obstacles to keep our patients’ care and safety at the forefront throughout. Our people are what make Banner Health among the very best in health care.”
During his tenure, Fine has led Banner through substantial growth to become one of the nation’s largest secular nonprofit health care organizations, operating 30 hospitals and other facilities with more than 52,000 employees across six western states. He has played a central role in directing Banner’s COVID-19 response, through establishment of test collection sites, rapid expansion of telehealth technology to all Banner providers with the ability to use it in patient care and the launch of a high-profile public awareness campaign promoting mask use.
In addition to his leadership in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fine has continued to strategically reposition Banner for the future, ensuring the scope, scale, agility, innovation and customer focus needed in a turbulent health care environment. His vision combines excelling in quality of care, operational performance, customer service, financial metrics and employee engagement.
Fine ranked No. 92 on Modern Healthcare’s 2020 list of ‘100 Most Influential People in Healthcare.’ The ranking is a top story in this week’s issue. A feature article and profiles of the winners are available at https://www.modernhealthcare.com/awards/100-most-influential-people-healthcare-2020.
