Renewal by Andersen Improves Homes for Homeless Families

Renewal by Andersen  Nov. 4, 2014

035Every nine seconds in the U.S. a woman is assaulted or beaten, and studies suggest that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually. To commemorate the National Make A Difference Day on October 22, Renewal by Andersen(RbA) gave back to the community by embarking on a heartfelt home improvement project by renovating residents’ homes and the Donation Center at the House of Refuge East (HRE). The HRE is a transitional housing program for homeless families and victims of domestic violence.

In addition, HRE also accepted donations of clothes, food, furniture and more at the Donation Center.

This project was made possible by the Windows for Change program founded by RbA. This program is set up with the goal of renovating all 80 homes at HRE.  The total amount of cash, in-kind labor and product donations this year is $41,882.00.
