Doich, the functional snacking dough brand, has appointed David Kurd as Chief Operating Officer, marking a key step in the company’s continued expansion.
His appointment comes as Doich accelerates its retail expansion, including recent launches in Minnesota’s Lunds & Byerlys and Chicagoland’s Jewel-Osco at the end of May, strengthening its presence in Midwest markets. Known for its allergen-friendly, gluten-free and low-sugar dough, Doich continues to stand out in the better-for-you snacking category delivering a delicious snack that can be eaten raw or baked.
“We’ve taken a very hands-on and intentional approach to building Doich, and David immediately connected with that,” said Anthony Scialdone, Doich CEO and co-founder. “His leadership will be instrumental as we continue our momentum during this next phase of growth.”
As COO, Kurd will lead day-to-day operations and support the company’s growing retail and distribution presence nationwide.
Kurd’s appointment comes following an investment from Gabe Plotkin, owner and co-chairman of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, to accelerate the company’s growth. Kurd and Plotkin have a long-standing professional relationship rooted in their time together in the investment management sector.
Kurd brings nearly three decades of experience across operations, investing and consumer markets. He most recently served as President of Snowball Advisors LLC and was previously Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Melvin Capital. Kurd holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Economics from MIT and serves on the boards of Rye Country Day School and Altus Spine.
