Camby Hotel Opens All-New Restaurant Offering a Taste of the Southwest

The Camby, an established and sophisticated hotel in the heart of the Phoenix Biltmore neighborhood, announces a comprehensive renovation and launching an all-new restaurant concept, Yellowbell. The reimagination of both draw inspiration from the natural beauty of Arizona and Camelback Mountain, the hotel’s namesake, celebrating everything that makes Phoenix unique – its Western heritage, layered desert surroundings and vibrant culture.

The Camby’s full interior renovation encompasses the lobby, corridors, and all other common spaces, along with its 279 guest rooms including 14 suites. The redesign represents a transformative evolution of the hotel’s classic architecture, keeping its crown molding and high ceilings, while incorporating modern elements to strike a balance between classic and contemporary style. Natural textures, verdant plant life, and warm, muted hues contribute to a design that evokes relaxation and curiosity, creating a setting that is both dynamic and soothing. The updated spaces offer guests a sophisticated environment that is modern and inviting, embracing the natural splendor of Arizona and the urban eclecticism of Phoenix.

In addition to the hotel’s transformation, The Camby is proud to announce the opening of Yellowbell, its new signature restaurant. Named after the native Arizona flower, it reflects the warmth and joy of its namesake with a menu inspired by the region’s indigenous ingredients. Executive Chef Alfredo Alvarez leads the culinary team in creating dishes that celebrate Southwestern flavors with a modern twist. The restaurant emphasizes locally sourced ingredients and highlights the region’s rich culinary heritage, offering a dining experience that is both authentic and innovative.

“Yellowbell is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of our local culture and community,” said Chef Alvarez. “We’re excited to offer a new, memorable dining experience where both guests and locals can immerse themselves in the essence of Arizona.”

Yellowbell’s design mirrors its culinary philosophy, combining Arizona’s rugged charm with contemporary elegance. Warm earth tones, natural materials, and local artwork create an inviting ambiance that complements the bold flavors of the menu. From its signature Green Chile Cornbread to the indulgent Baked Oaxaca Cheese and sweet and savory Sage Honey Salmon, each dish is crafted to reflect the diverse tastes and of the desert. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with distinct menus and signature dishes for each daypart, guests can enjoy both indoor and outdoor dining on the restaurant’s patio, as well as access to an added private dining room.

The restaurant also includes a full bar with a beverage program that revolves around the storied tradition of agave-based spirits, featuring a curated selection of tequila, mezcal, and other regional favorites. Signature cocktails include multiple inventive tequila-based drinks, the “Chile Mule” made with St. George Green Chile Vodka and the Mezcal based “I Need a Hot One.” Yellowbell’s bar staff are knowledgeable in the art of agave harvesting and distillation, ensuring that each cocktail is made with care and offers a genuine taste of the Southwest.

The Camby’s renovation and the debut of Yellowbell mark a fresh chapter for the hotel, reinstating its role as a central and chic gathering place in Phoenix. In addition to the restaurant, local purveyor Cartel Roasting Co. will be opening on property helping foster a further sense of community through coffee. The Camby will continue to offer its popular Tipsy Tea event on select Saturdays and will be adding additional creative and community programming.

The Camby is located at 2401 E. Camelback Rd. in Phoenix. Yellowbell will be open daily for breakfast from 6-10:30 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and dinner from 5-10 p.m. The restaurant’s full bar will be open for service from 11 a.m.-12 a.m.
