The Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) is viewed as one of the top regional economic development organizations across the country, according to a new survey of U.S. corporate executives and location advisors released Monday at the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Annual Conference in Toronto.
Conducted by Development Counsellors International (DCI) every three years, the “Winning Strategies in Economic Development Marketing” survey has tracked trends in economic development since its inception in 1996. For the first time, the survey also includes findings about how the current political climate affects business perceptions.
GPEC ranked No. 2 “best in class” regional economic development agency, according to the site selection consultants who participated in the survey, with 15 percent identifying it as a top economic development organization.
“The Winning Strategies survey provides insights into the minds of key decision makers—from their perceptions on locations around the world to how they get the information that shapes those perceptions,” said DCI President Andrew T. Levine. “As the competition for business expansions and talent intensifies, this information can be crucial to communities looking to set themselves apart from other locations.”
“It is an absolute honor for GPEC to be recognized by national site selection consultants as one of the top economic development organizations in the county,” said Chris Camacho, GPEC President and CEO. “While the team works day in and day out with our communities and stakeholders, and site selectors, we have the good fortune of having a strong board of directors, who are active in contributing to the organization’s success.”
