The Refrigeration School, Inc. (RSI), has named David Eaker campus president of the Phoenix-based skilled-trade school. A leader in the industry for more than 50 years, RSI has trained over 10,000 students for sustainable careers in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R).
“With demand booming for skilled HVAC/R technicians, it’s an exciting time to be in the industry and I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead our dedicated faculty and staff,” said Eaker. “We will continue to train the next generation of highly skilled technicians that our partners and employers have come to expect, and will evolve curriculum and technologies to meet the increasing industry demand.”
As campus president, Eaker will oversee many aspects of campus operations at RSI, operated by StrataTech Education Group, including operational effectiveness, academic quality and overall growth. Eaker is also responsible for the overall education and graduation success of nearly 500 students, and will oversee 50 staff members and administrative functions.
Prior to being named campus president, Eaker served as director of admissions in 2014 at Tulsa Welding School & Technology Center (TWSTC) in Houston, a skilled-trade school within the StrataTech Education Group portfolio. Eaker was promoted in August 2015 to regional director of admissions at TWSTC and another subsidiary campus, Tulsa Welding School in Tulsa, Okla. Prior to entering the higher education field, Eaker enjoyed a 17-year career in sales and marketing within the technology and fitness industries.
“During the past few years, David has emerged as a true leader within our organization,” said Mary Kelly, CEO of StrataTech Education Group. “His extensive knowledge, diverse background and leadership will serve our students, faculty and staff at RSI, and only continue to build upon the successes we’ve achieved over the last 50 years.”
Eaker received a Bachelor of Science in business and organizational leadership from North Park University, and an MBA with a concentration in project management from Keller Graduate School.
