Insight Participates in CityNext

Insight  Dec. 4, 2014

Insight, a leading global technology provider of hardware, software and service solutions, has announced that its Public Sector business is working with Microsoft on Microsoft CityNext, an initiative designed to help governments, businesses and citizens reimagine what is next for their cities.

Through the Microsoft CityNext initiative, Microsoft and Insight will help leaders learn a “new with less approach.” This approach combines the power of technology with innovative ideas to connect governments, businesses and citizens with city services to increase efficiencies, reduce costs, foster a more sustainable environment, and cultivate communities where people thrive.

Insight, which has deep experience as a trusted technology advisor to state and local governments, will bring to the CityNext initiative experience across a range of technology solutions for data protection, office productivity, mobility, network, security, and communications.

“Technology has the power to change not only our lives, but the cities in which we live,” said Dave Cristal, Insight Public Sector’s vice president and general manager. “We are moving beyond the industrial revolutions that forged our nation’s cities, and speeding into technological revolutions that will shape them for future generations.

Insight is uniquely suited to help the public and private sectors leverage technology to create more sustainable, prosperous, and economically competitive cities by partnering with other technology leaders through Microsoft CityNext.”

“Microsoft prioritizes putting people and partners first in our initiatives and Microsoft CityNext is no different,” said Rob Bernard, Microsoft Chief Environmental Strategist and noted cities strategist.

“Even though cities are feeling the strain from economic challenges, we believe a new era of innovation will create opportunities for people to utilize technology to accomplish what they never thought possible.

We’re inspired by our diverse partner ecosystem and know that working together we can help cities realize their full potential.”
