Great Clips, Inc., the world’s largest hair salon brand, announced a partnership with the Arizona Department of Child Safety to help support children in foster & group home care. The partnership kicked off December 2 with an in-salon fundraising event that took place at all Great Clips locations in Arizona.
Through the in-salon fundraiser, Great Clips donated one dollar per haircut to raise funds to support the Arizona Helping Hands Toy Drive. The Toy Drive has been held every holiday season since 1998 and provides toys, personal care items, and clothing to children in foster care.
Through the event, Great Clips raised $13,493 in a single day for the Arizona Helping Hands Holiday Toy Drive.
Randy Nelson, a Great Clips Franchisee, presented Dan Schufelt, president and CEO of Arizona Helping Hands, with a check for $13,493 during the organization’s Holiday Toy Drive Red Ribbon Cutting Event last night on December 6. The funds will help Arizona Helping Hands fill holiday package requests for 16,000 children in foster care in Arizona and help solve one of the biggest concerns they have this time of year, is Santa going to know where I am?
“I’m blown away by Great Clips and their generous donation to our holiday toy drive and their commitment to help make lives better for kids in foster care,” says Dan Schufelt. “We’ve received over 16,000 requests for gifts this year and this donation helps bring us one step closer to being able to provide gifts to the thousands of children in foster care who need them this holiday season.”

In addition to generating financial support that will be used to buy toys for the Toy Drive, Great Clips will donate 500 free haircuts monthly to children in the foster care program.
