All job objectives should be completed according to agency standards and policies as outlined in the Maple Star Employee Handbook and state Rules and Regulations.

Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE:  Provide trauma-informed Supervised visitation supervision and family coaching support to families after a removal has occurred, during scheduled appointments at  in the Community, or at the Department of Human Services offices, when needed. Therapeutic Supervision may also be provided when required.

 

ACCOUNTABLE TO:  Visitation and Parent Coaching Services Supervisor

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Direct Service:

- Assist with the orientation of families to visitation guidelines and expectations

- Develop goals for visitation and/or coaching with the input of the caseworker and the family

- Provide supervision and coaching to families during scheduled appointments employing trauma informed interventions and psycho-education.

- Provide appropriate level of supervision and intervention required by the referral source

- Assist in development of parenting skills and interventions using trauma informed care principles

- Complete required program documentation and visitation summaries within established time frames

- Report immediately any incidents of alleged abuse or neglect

- Testify in court as needed

- Provide transportation as required by referral source

 

Program Expectations:

- Attend and actively participate in Facilitate Visitation Program team meetings

- Appropriate utilization of supervisory resources

- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines

- Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

 

Administrative:

- Participate in and complete all required trainings

- Complete and submit timesheets, expenses, work diaries,  and other documention on required dates

 

Supervision:

- Actively participate in individual supervision

 

Documentation:

- Will adhere to HIPAA and agency standards

 

This position is considered full-time and would provide on average 30 hours of work per week. 

Qualifications

V. QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

·         Minimum Bachelor’s degree

·         Experience working with children and families

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience working in a Child Welfare related position for facilitation of  supervised visits and to provide moderate parent coaching

 

V. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

1.      Effective organizational skills including the ability to think clearly and logically; to problem solve effectively; written and oral communication skills; and the ability to function with minimal supervision.

2.      Knowledge of local agencies and other community resources that may serve youth, families, and foster care services.

 

VI. Other Requirements:

1.      Must be willing to submit for fingerprinting and a background criminal check.

2.      Background criminal check must meet the Colorado State Department of Social Services requirements for personnel working in the child welfare system. 

3.      Must not have any positive inquiries found in the grievance board database.

4.      Must have current driver’s license, insurance and registration with no significant violations
